For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin.
Hebrews 4:15
God, through Jesus, can sympathize with our temptations. He understands the life we encounter day to day, the temptations that the flesh assails us with. His victory was not merely over death but over the corruption of the flesh in a Spiritual sense. By achieving what we cannot, freedom from sin, he rescues us from our flesh by taking on all that destroys us. His sacrifice was therefore not just one of a death suffered for us but a life lived without a single sin, for our great benefit.
