Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20

Honoring God is not a passive thing. It’s not entirely a verbal thing either. We actively undertake honoring God, by conducting ourselves in a way that values the price for which we have been bought. So being a Christian is not about being a good person for self righteous reasons but being a godly person because of what God has committed to the cause.
