Do not fret because of those who are evil
    or be envious of those who do wrong;

Psalm 37:1

Why would you envy an evil person? Because they are successful. We want success. That part isn’t unexpected. The problem is, what do we consider to be success? The godly person’s measurement of success has to be against godly standards. A believer can’t be satisfied with worldly rewards. As citizens of heaven, we require Spiritual benefits. Neither can we ignore the exploitation, avarice and negligence that the world perpetrates without a second thought and at every opportunity. Spiritual rewards don’t require wages to be stolen to pad the bottom line, instead God rewards the generous. Spiritual riches come from humility, where worldly acclaim demands one must cover up, save face, lie and obfuscate. Worldly success is about amassing control and power, where the Spiritually rich serve their neighbors.

So if you feel envious of the world, rethink your priorities.
