How good and pleasant it is
when God’s people live together in unity!

PSalm 133:1

We are Christians. We have no choice; to be a believer in Christ is to be a part of Jesus sacred, universal, timeless congregation. When Peter confessed that Jesus was the anointed one that scripture foretold, Jesus said that he would build his assembly upon that confession. He didn’t want us to have any room for doubt. Nobody is allowed to go it alone. We need each other.

Not only that, but scripture affirms what we already know; it is good and pleasant to live together in unity with God’s people. We get to enjoy the benefits of this congregation in this world and the next. Church is not just a place on the map, it is also who we are. That belonging defines and shapes us.
