Blessed are the peacemakers,
    for they will be called children of God.

Matthew 5:9

Notice this is a peace maker and not a peace keeper. The action being described is one of creation, it mimics the Creator. But where must peace be made? Not in peaceful places!

The peacemaker risks something to be an insurgent for peace in a place where conflict exists. These peacemakers deprive themselves of their own peace to cultivate peace where it does not exist! So what blessing do they receive? They are called Children of God, sons and daughters worthy of the Name.
