There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you—who are you to judge your neighbor?
James 4:12
Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.
Luke 6:37
We have been commanded in the above passages, and elsewhere, not to judge. It is tempting to break this commandment; people are so bad, everywhere, always. But what does it mean to judge? How can we avoid disobeying this instruction? Judgement here refers to condemnation that assesses the worth or value of a person, especially in the Spiritual sense. We are all equally made in the image of God and have access to grace through Jesus. God has deemed us whom he has chosen and who have obeyed worthy of salvation.
So don’t judge; we are a people who celebrate grace.
