Heal me, Lord, and I will be healed;
    save me and I will be saved,
    for you are the one I praise.

Jeremiah 17:14

The only hurts that last are spiritual ones; even death is temporary to the Spiritual. So the only healing that lasts is the kind that comes from the Lord, who is Spirit. When the prophet proclaims God’s healing he is not simply stating his acknowledgement of God’s supremacy over life and death. He is calling to God, the one beyond man’s knowledge or control, because he knows that trusting in man is a curse.

Don’t seek healing and safety from people. Go to God, and you will come back with an invitation to safety and healing others need too.
