“Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean;
Remove the evil of your deeds from My sight.
Stop doing evil,
Learn to do good;
Seek justice,
Rebuke the oppressor,
Obtain justice for the orphan,
Plead for the widow’s case.
“Come now, and let us debate your case,”
Says the Lord,
“Though your sins are as scarlet,
They shall become as white as snow;
Though they are red like crimson,
They shall be like wool.
If you are willing and obedient,
You will eat the best of the land;
But if you refuse and rebel,
You will be devoured by the sword.”
For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.

Isaiah 1:16-20

Your boasting is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump of dough? Clean out the old leaven so that you may be a new lump, just as you are in fact unleavened. For Christ our Passover also has been sacrificed. Therefore let’s celebrate the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

1 Corinthians 5:6-8

Just as the Lord provided the ram to Abraham in place of his son, God has provided Jesus in place of our own sins. It is not our own blood that marks our doorways as saved, but the blood of the Lamb, Jesus. We have a celebration to partake in; let us rejoice! And from that abundant feast, we look after those who have need around us.
