Imagine if every time you wanted to plant a garden, you had to make your own seeds from scratch. Combine the right genetic traits from parent plants, invest time and energy and resources into forming the seeds artificially and then plant them hoping you didn’t mess something serious up. Ridiculous, right?
Why do Christians try to do this with their Spiritual lives?
You are not trying to recreate God in your own heart and life. God is among us, we simply are asked to remove the things which are incompatible with his word and his presence in our lives. Don’t try to make a new, perfect seed. Just tend your garden.
