This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

John 15:8

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Galatians 5:22-23

We know our big duties as Christians, the callings which we are led to, the commandments we must struggle to keep and the teachings we diligently apply ourselves to understanding. Contrasting that, there is a measurable but more indirect way to see if we are living in the Spirit. He will produce fruit that matches his qualities. If we meditate on the Word, pray in the Spirit and seek God in our lives, we should be seeing fruit.

So even if you feel like all the big jobs will never be finished, look for the little signs that God is growing his presence in your life.
