I’m going to ask you to turn off your Christian vocabulary for a second. Just read the following verse on a superficial level and tell me what is off about it. It should seem a little weird at first glance.

Here is a trustworthy saying:
If we died with him,
we will also live with him.

2 Timothy 2:11

You would normally expect those events to go in the opposite order. Live with him and then die with him. But as Christians we begin to take an entirely new paradigm into our minds and build our understanding around it. Life is life, but beyond death, we have a better life yet to come.

So, knowing that our minds have changed from what we once were, do we live our lives in faith according to that trustworthy saying?
