But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Galatians 5:22-23

We have a calling to be like God, full of grace, loving our enemies and doing good to the undeserving. How do we measure our success in that? By measuring the willingness of our hearts.

Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good?

1 Peter 3:13

Are you eager to do good? It is possible to find people everywhere who are willing to do good. There may even be some who are happy to do good. But the eager are truly exceptional!

And in fact, you do love all of God’s family throughout Macedonia. Yet we urge you, brothers and sisters, to do so more and more, and to make it your ambition to lead a quiet life: You should mind your own business and work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.

1 Thessalonians 4:11
