As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”

1 Peter 1:14-16

Consider this: you used to be ignorant about right and wrong but you learned and then it became your responsibility. When did that happen? For certain things, very early in your life. Even babies learn the word “no” very quickly. So when it comes to sin, God is clear. Reject what I have rejected. Be set apart from those things and therefore be counted as holy. Ignorance is where we all begin, but it is intolerable as a final stage of development for the believer.
