There’s a kind of ugly little comfort, fading and diluted, that can be found from holding onto hate. We can reassure ourselves of our own justification in a situation by remembering exactly how wrong the other guy is.

God is the God of Grace and Mercy. We cannot allow even a little selfishness in his presence. That will hold us back from touching his forgiveness and accessing his grace through prayer. Notice it’s not the severity of sins or the particular kind of sin that causes us to be excluded from having our sins forgiven, but the lack of forgiveness toward others on our part.
