Be very careful, then, how you liveā€”not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.

Ephesians 5:15-16

We have to be at our absolute best when the times are at their absolute worst. There is no excuse for slacking off or bad attitudes when our Christian life and the Church’s reputation is on the line. That’s not to say we can’t afford rest. We need to take breaks and step away from time to time. What we are avoiding with all of our ability is temptation! Sin doesn’t get to us on good days but on bad days it’s almost natural. “I was going through so much so of course I lost my temper and hurt someone, anybody would.” But Christians are not just anybody and we don’t do what is natural but conduct ourselves according to the supernatural example of Jesus.

Be wise.
