It is written: “I believed; therefore I have spoken.” Since we have that same spirit of faith, we also believe and therefore speak, because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you to himself. All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.

Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.

2 Corinthians 4:13-17

The days of man are like grass. He grows like a flower of the field. When the wind blows over it, it is gone. Its place will remember it no more. But the loving-kindness of the Lord is forever and forever on those who fear Him. And what is right with God is given forever to their children’s children, to those who keep His agreement and remember to obey His Law.

Psalm 103:15-18

What perishes, perishes in time. What is eternal is now and forever eternal. We must place as a priority that which is lasting and allow to fade into irrelevance all that would hinder us from an eternity of peace. Life will fail; eternal life must succeed. And how do we secure our eternity? Through the one and only Everlasting God, and by what he has revealed to us through his holy Word. Then we will attain to that eternal glory.
