There is a path before each person that seems right,
but it ends in death.

Proverbs 14:12

Why is wisdom so important in the Bible? There’s an entire section of the Old Testament that is dedicated to the genre of wisdom literature. James, in his letter, emphasizes that wisdom is the one thing that God never withholds from people who pray for it. Paul, writing to the church in Colossae, says that it is through Spiritual wisdom that they can access all power.

Wisdom is important because it is an inward and outward indicator of maturity. It is a sign of growth to the the one who gains it and attains more maturity and a sign of a more complete person to those who see it in action in the Spiritual person’s life. This is in addition to the direct benefits that being wiser has on ones own life.

The difference between the wise person and the unwise is this: know when to say “I don’t know.” Fools have a hard time saying that, but the wise admit it and seek advice.
