I often feel stupid when I’m listening to something I don’t understand; other people see me as stupid when I speak about things I don’t understand. So it’s better to listen, to learn and to think than it is to speak and to speculate and to demonstrate my ignorance. But to whom do we listen? Where can we go to cure our ignorance?

For the Lord gives wisdom;
from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.

Proverbs 2:6

There is a humility that is required in order to gain wisdom. Nobody is independently intelligent! There are natural talents for memory and for attention but without direction and intention, they are wasted and as good as foolishness.
