Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”

Nehemiah 8:10

He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.

Deuteronomy 8:3

Food may be sustenance for the present world but the Word of God is sustenance for the immortal soul; the people who call upon his name will draw strength from it, knowing that it is just as essential for us as eating and drinking. Who can we go to for that besides? What other source can there be? God is our creator and he fuels us with his Holy Word.
