But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.
1 Peter 3:15
Whether “gentleness and respect” or the “meekness and fear” of the KJV, we can see that the Apostle intends for his students, his fellow disciples of Jesus, to be aware of their conduct when they share the message of hope. This matters so much! Who can believe in a hope that is preached from a heart darkened by violence and arrogance?
No the Christian’s own story is a singular reflection of the glory of God, told by one humble enough to need that hope to begin with!
