It’s common to hear “I can’t be at two places at once” when sorting out priorities or being overburdened with obligations. Indeed it is irresponsible, even negligent for a human being to take on too much at once. If we are spread too thin, we will not fully accomplish what we are expected to do.

For this is what the high and exalted One says—
he who lives forever, whose name is holy:
“I live in a high and holy place,
but also with the one who is contrite and lowly in spirit,
to revive the spirit of the lowly
and to revive the heart of the contrite.”

Isaiah 57:15

God has no such restrictions.

He is both the One who dwells in the halls of Heaven, holding celestial court and hearing the prayers and petitions of his people, our King and Father. God is also the Son, who lived and died as one of us and was resurrected to show his fellow human beings that we can attain to the same. Thus he is also the Holy Spirit, who comes and guides us even now.

Who can be in two places at once? God can! Thanks be to him that he chose to be with us!
