Did you ever have an unreasonable request from your boss? Maybe one where the whole team would be in trouble if it wasn’t done, no matter how impossible?

Daniel said,
“May the name of God be blessed forever and ever,
For wisdom and power belong to Him.
It is He who changes the times and the periods;
He removes kings and appoints kings;
He gives wisdom to wise men,
And knowledge to people of understanding.
It is He who reveals the profound and hidden things;
He knows what is in the darkness,
And the light dwells with Him.
To You, God of my fathers, I give thanks and praise,
For You have given me wisdom and power;
Even now You have made known to me what we requested of You,
For You have made known to us the king’s matter.”

Daniel 2:20-22

God’s servant Daniel was in a tough position; Nebuchadnezzar the king asked his wise men to provide him not only with an interpretation of his dream but the dream itself, since, if someone truly possessed special insight that would not be impossible. The catch was, if an answer was not provided, the king would have the wise men killed. The only one who could provide that insight, of course, was God. He made the dream known to Daniel and the king was satisfied.

God is capable of making plans that we cannot see, moving things in ways we do not understand and providing wisdom we couldn’t otherwise access. That is something we can rely on; even if you have a hard time believing that God is working on your behalf, know that He is working toward his own goals. As long as your goals and His are aligned, you will be blessed. God is a king who never makes unreasonable demands.
