One who watches the wind will not sow and one who looks at the clouds will not harvest.

Ecclesiastes 11:4

Do you ever feel like you are waiting on your turn to go? Maybe you feel like you need permission from someone to step up and take on the thing you already know you can do and want to see done.

God has granted us with manifold gifts; a world that is big and full of possibility, a brotherhood of people who love Him like we do and a capacity to grow and create and do good. It is easy to downplay that last part.

2 Corinthians 5 talks about how God created us to be part of His eternal creation through Christ. In other words, the power of our salvation is the same as the power of Creation. This means that the Lord did not make us to be passengers on this planet but as we await that heavenly dwelling that we are imbued with the power of the Creator!

Don’t wait on someone to give you permission to exercise His gifts in your life. Don’t wait on a sign to undertake something worthwhile. Do what you can, and dedicate it to the Lord. The season for our work is now and he has given us the tools and the strength to accomplish it.
