Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always.

1 Chronicles 16:11

Turning away from someone and hiding your face from them is a sure way to indicate shame or disgust; the presence of the other is unwanted because of the unworthiness of one party or the other.

My heart says of you, “Seek his face!” Your face, Lord, I will seek.

Psalm 27:8

But the believer seeks the Lord’s face. One who follows God searches for his approval, his forgiveness, his guidance. Even in times of shame or embarrassment, sorrow or fear, God is one to be sought out, not hidden from.

Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always.

PSalm 105:4

This is in contrast to the sin in the Garden. Adam and Eve hid themselves, naked and afraid, but we come to God clothed in Christ and unashamed. We turn to him and seek his face, and we are saved by that.
