Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good?

1 Peter 3:13

What is a Christian character? How does one conduct oneself in a Christlike manner? One might be tempted to be satisfied with “do good” but that clause needs an adverb.

Do good eagerly.

That is the way. If you want to imitate Jesus and pursue a life more like his, consider deeply the clear, unambiguous purity of motive for everything he did. He never had a selfish reason for any single action. So learn and apply this principle. Do good eagerly. Do good earnestly. Do good sincerely.
